Billed for Engineer Visit but...
Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for some time and unfortunately my first post is a complaint/cry for help.
Last month, after a week of intermittent broadband service (line via STB dropping every few minutes) CS said they would despatch an engineer. Sure enough he arrived as planned and after twenty mintues or so told me that the fault was not mine, but a local network problem.
By the end of the day the fault had gone. However, during the next week TV and broadband disappeared completely. After a few attempts at turning on and off I left the house and found that two streets away a couple of engineers were tinkering with a CATV box at the roadside. By the end of the eveining everything was fine and has remained so.
On Saturday my latest bill arrived and I find that I've been charged £50 for a call-out. Is this usual? It seems rather stranged as I was alerting them to a local network problem and the engineer confirmed that there was nothing wrong with anything within my home.
If this is in error, what recourse do I have and what do those in the know suggest I should do?
Many thanks.
PS. I'm assuming this is the most relevant forum, but please redirect if it shouldn't be here.
