Question Attenuator

Hi all,When the ntl technician came round. He installed everything ect but didnt put an Attenuator on. Everyone else i know has one on there modem.
I have three attenuators in front of me-6dB,10dB,20dB.Do i need one?

An Attenuator lowers the signal on the line, too much signal can be as bad as not enough, if the engineer did not install an Attenuator, if he did his job correctly then you should not need one. If you have signal problems with your Modem then you may perhaps need one but leave it to NTL to work it out from what sort of signal you get at your end.

I forgot to say How rude of me.

If it works ok leave it, if not call Ntl mate.
If theres a problem they need to test the signal level, not much else i can say

Well as i work your area from time to time and i am not dodgy, Lets just hope its not me who comes to fix your connection after you have tits it up because you have messed with something you know nothing about , Because if it is and you have messed it up i have a nice big BILL pad.

Sorry if ive affended you. I know four people who work for NTL. Im saying 'dodgey' meaning in a good way!,im not saying names. Dont get me wrong the people are sound but some people do dodgey things not accusing you or any other people.
