How to connect a RDVD to NTL??

Hello,

I am new on this forum. I thought that you people might be able to help with a problem that I am having.

I have an NTL Samsung 2100C box, an Alba RDVD & a JVC TV with two Scart sockets.

How do I connect these up? the DVD Recorder is giving a no-input singal message.

Please help....

Regards,

The Poshgaffer

to CableForum!

Have a look at http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...987#post503987. Replace the VCR in the diagram with your DVDR.

Customer Reviews of the Alba - RDVD1001 - DVD Recorder - Silver

Customer Rating: 5
Summary: cheap and cheerful
Comment: Have had this recorder for a month or so. Seems to be working very well. The menu systems for recording are unnecessarily involved and could do with some tidying up but you get used to programming a recording after a few attempts. Note: if you are recording via the SCART from a freeview box etc be sure to switch the decoder 'on' otherwise it sees 'no signal' and the recording will abort.
This is my first DVD recorder so I have no experience of more expensive models but for a base model I think this is excellent value for money - I am only interested in recording on dvd +rw, +r.

Believe me, I've spent hours searching for set up instructions specific to this one machine, there is nothing out there

So, assuming the info above, taken from someone who's bought one from Amazon, is correct, I suggest you try the following, as you've told me by PM the instructions on the previous link wiring diagram don't work for you:
1) turn on RDVD player
2) connect NTL box to scart two on RDVD machine, then, in the ALBA setup menu, set up scart two as RGB in (if this is allowed)
3) connect the tv out ALBA scart to output RGB signal (check your ALBA RDVD1001 instructions on how to do this) and connect this to tv scart 1 (The tv scart that allows RGB in, check your tv instruction book).

All being well, you'll now be able to view/record anything the NTL box is presenting via the ALBA RVDV1001 machine, hopefully, when not in use, the alba should pass through the NTL box signal directly to the tv, as long as the alba is powered up, and in standby mode.

Let me know how you're getting on.
