Changing Netflix Sub

I've been on live chat with both Virgin and Netflix but neither can give me a straight answer.

I have netflix standard with adds in my package but I pay an extra £6 a month to have netflix standard without adds.

If I go onto my netflix account I can change my package with them to standard with adds---but I cannot get an answer if that will stop virgin charging the £6 a month.

It would seem a simple thing to resolve, but I'm getting nowhere.

Anyone done this?.

Netflix won't charge you directly. The extra charges get added to your VM bill instead. I signed up to a new VM contract that had Netflix, but I was already signed up with Netflix on a non-basic package.

Re: Changing Netflix Sub

I would think that if you changed it in Netflix, that the charge would drop from VirginMedia. I don’t know if this is exactly how it works but it seems to me that when you sign up for the extra it knows you’re on a virgin contract so it bills virgin for the extra cost. So it makes sense to me that if you stop the extra cost add-on that it would then no longer be billing virgin for it so you would no longer be billed by virgin for it. That makes logical sense. If you want to get rid of the ad free version I would cancel your Netflix account. I would screenshot everything about the cancellation and then I would see what happens with your next Bill. If your next virgin Bill still has the extra charge, give them a call to work it out. If no one is able to tell you ahead of time that seems to be the only course of action.

Yes, I have done this more than once and each time VM have automatically adjusted my bill.
