Angry Family courts - 82 broken child contact orders & conting!

Doubts about the veracity of the source aside, this sort of thing makes my blood boil. Men are continually being reminded of their shortcomings, tarred with the stereotypical absent father brush and told they need to be more responsible yet this is how a loving father is treated when trying to secure access to his daughter. Evidently it's cost him a fortune, been the source of immense stress and pain yet the courts are unwilling to assist him to be the caring parent he wants to be and they acknowledge his is. God only knows what harm it's done to the unfortunate daughter - it's tantamount to abuse! Meanwhile and despite all the broken court orders, his ex carries on regardless seemingly using the child as a weapon and being allowed to do so by those who ought to be preventing this sort of thing.

Here's a novel thought: If we want men to be more responsible parents and reverse the trend of children with no positive male role models, how about giving them the rights they need and backing them up with power which are actually enforced!

Re: Family courts - 82 broken child contact orders!

I agree whole heartedly..I'm thoroughly ashamed that members of my own sex can do this repeatedly and keep getting away with this sort of behaviour. Why oh why can't social services do the right thing and get the child away from a mother who is totally unfit as a parent?

I'm fed up with hearing about cases like this and I can't understand why no one will take them up in the house of commons.

Unfortunately my younger brother is having issues with his ex - this has been going for 4 years...

She is not even cooperating with social services now. So they are taken her to court in the end of January... hopefully my brother will get the 2 other children. He already has one older girl at his home who is 16 and has not been to school for a year... she has mental issues. Hopefully she will not turn out like her mother who needs help.

No physical abuse as yet.. but mental abuse.

Re: Family courts - 82 broken child contact orders!

This has been going on for years an old friend of mine tried to be amicable when his relationship broke up even though it was her repeated cheating that ended everything. For over three years he only got to see his daughter after the so called mother had whatever sum of money she was demanding that week and even then was phoning him constantly reminding him what time the daughter had to be bought back totally disrupting what little time he had. Court acknowledged he was a good father and likely a better parent but did nothing beyond that endlessly agreeing with him but doing nothing practical to help him.

In the end he took the extreme route of in the eyes of the law kidnapping his daughter after getting a very good job in the US the mother didn't even bother reporting it as her man at the time was showing her a good time. While i don't condone it having watched him go through the pain he did for years and knowing that little girl would be in a far more stable and loving home i did and would still support him. This country needs to come upto date sharpish on this we have dragged our heels long enough mother is not always best sometimes not by a long chalk as a recent case showed.

A most familiar situation.... lets hope my brother gets some justice for what he has had to put with and more importantly that the children find some stability in life.

I agree totally agree with your last sentence... Well done for supporting him.
