Superhub : Lease Time remaining?

Anyone know what this is about?

First time I have noticed this and only since the new firmware roll out.

Had this yesterday after resetting the SH

Lease Time Remaining 6 days 23:51:05
Expiry --- --- -- --:--:-- ----
Current Network Time
First time I have ever noticed this.

Does this mean that everytime it comes to the expiry time it resets automatically? If so, why?

When your modem connects it gets allocated an IP address by DHCP and there is an automatic lease time for that IP. This will just get renewed automatically. It has always been the same but either wasn't reported before in your old firmware or you just didn't see it.

Simple answer - it is of no consequence to you.

so it won't reboot the SH then?

No - at least it shouldn't but the Superhub does have a few bugs which do result in reboots.

The hub should look after it for you. As I said you get allocated an IP when the connection is first established and the lease will expire. I think it's half way through the lease time that the hub firmware is supposed to request a renewal so in effect you end up with a permanent lease until you use a different superhub or something changes in the VM network so they issue you a different IP.

Although I said modem in the first post I think that technically it's the router section that negotiates this. Either way the details are not important to end users like you and me.
