Disconnecting Completely

Hi all

Haven't posted here for a long time, but I have problems!

I upgraded from a rock solid 10mb connection to 30mb with the Superhub. We've had it 5 days now and about every couple of hours it just disconnects from the internet. No ethernet and no wireless whatsoever.

The lights on the Superhub when this happens:

Top light flashing green
Middle light off
Bottom light on green

We have a tech coming Thursday morning, but i just wanted to see if anyone could see anything that doesn't look right.

Many thanks in advance

Re: Disconnecting Completely

signal levels are spot on dude. I know it has been a whoile but I can remember there being an issue where the hubs were doing random disconnects like yours and VM were swapping them out with new ones

I'll miss the jobs putting 6db attenuators on when r30 is released

why? disabling routing functionality isn't going to help the modem if it's connection keeps dropping

Re: Disconnecting Completely

R30 doesn't just add a modem mode. its fixes the router too. I'm guessing the OP hasn't tried the work arounds to get R26 running properly and again guess the reboots have got to do with the bugs in firmware.

I hope so!

Just to add:

I actually removed firewall protection and other stuff in the list... Still disconnects.
I set the Lan/ip timeout to 999999... Still disconnects.
I don't want to remove the wireless functionality from the router as we have a second PC, mobile phones and a laptop all connecting via wifi

Thanks for all replies Glad to hear the levels look ok.

I'll report back after the tech has been Thursday - at the very least to help a searching problem-sufferer in the future

Re: Disconnecting Completely

have you changed wireless channels etc. ?

if not, have a read through this thread(s) > http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/12...going-off.html

Thanks thenry

Haven't changed wireless channels as the wireless seems to stay ok (according to the lights). It's the actual connection that drops (middle light), turning the Superhub into a shiny house brick

I'll have a look at that thread many thanks

Re: Disconnecting Completely

the wireless conflicts with things and throws a fit which reboots the whole device. search you area using inSIDDer, change channels accordingly, everythings in that thread and the thread link within. it should somewhat cure your issue, it'll still reboot but not as much hopefully. pathetic standards. longing out the firmware release is now just unnecessary.

Re: Disconnecting Completely

Ahh I see. Ok I'll have a play with that tomorrow and see how it goes.

The guy from Swansea told me that R30 is being released tomorrow, so I'll try a reboot late on in the day to see if it updates

Re: Disconnecting Completely

tomorrow? don't get your hopes up mate but I hope it is. by the way you wont need to reboot, it should update and reboot itself unless a new method is going to be used

Re: Disconnecting Completely

Just for closure purposes...

Virgin techs never showed up!

Ordinarily i would have been on the phone but since the Superhub has had no downtime whatsoever since R30 its ok (3 days and counting)
