Virgin HTC HD2
Got a new HTC HD2 delivered today, put the Virgin SIM provided in the handset and tells me it's Network Locked and to enter the unlock code.
How can it be locked it’s there own SIM, gave them a call and been told it could take up to 48 hours for someone to call me from Technical.
Total joke any other network would have just replaced the handset with one call.

Re: Virgin HTC HD2
Phone back and say that you are cancelling as they have sent out equipment that is not of merchantible quality.

Re: Virgin HTC HD2
Did have an iPhone and have to say the HTC is great apart from the fact I can't make any calls or send an SMS.

A few of my colleagues have that phone and they are very happy with it, but you need yours to work.

Re: Virgin HTC HD2
As Masque says, phone and threaten to leave. They have sold you a device that is not of merchantable quailty, so they have a legal responsibility to replace or repair it, or refund the cost.
Did you order it from VM directly, or from an outside company (e.g. Carphone Warehouse, Phones4you)?
When I bought my n95 through a CPW store, they gave me an O2 one for use on a t-mobile contract. Worked fine, but when it broke, neither O2 or T mobile wanted to touch it..

Re: Virgin HTC HD2
Hello, I have a Virgin HTC HD2 and I get many issues, such as people unable to contact me, my phone freezing and having glitches. The phone its self is brilliant, but the Windows Mobile is awful. It is not my particular phone that is the issue, its the model. My friend has one on another network and has similar problems. I would gladly swap this phone for the HTC desire (Technically a downgrade) but it is consistent. Is there a way of getting Virgin to consider replacing this phone, as I am on the same tarrif and would consider paying an excess

Re: Virgin HTC HD2
Sounds like a problem with the stock Radio. Problem is branded phones tend not to get updates. If you do get nowhere with Virgin your best bet would be to install hardspl and flash with an unbranded rom and more upto date radio driver

Re: Virgin HTC HD2
I have already tried a few newer radio roms from XDA-developers. But this phone really is an unfinished product in terms of the software. I'm hoping to bargain with Virgin Media, and get a switch to the HTC Desire. I'll let you know how this goes. Thanks for the suggestion
