New modem - some light at the end of the tunnel

A few weeks agao I posted on here that I could not get my new (256) modem to work despite activating it in accordance with instructions, so I went back to my current 120 modem but only getting about 5mb. I sent three emails to Tech Support but they all came back with instructions to activate it!! So I just settled for the old modem. Yesterday I had an email from Virgin.

"I have checked your account and I see you're using the old NTL 120 modem. Can I just ask you why you aren't using the new replacement modem?

If there's anything else we can help with, please let us know"

So I have told them of the problems encountered and hopefully I can get it resolved now.
