Losing Connection

Hi,
I have a Linksys WRT54G router and recently have been losing internet connection. I've had to reinstall it once but almost every day the internet goes down. I switch the router off and back on again and thet usually sorts the problem - but why do I have to do this. Have tried other cables. I recentlry got a new modem from virgin and it seems okay. Is it just the router going done ( 3 years old). Also, do Virgin supply routers to account holders or is it just modems.

When it goes down can you still browse pages on sites that you've already visited, but not get to any new sites?
