Media Player Codecs
I hope you can help.
Just getting my Netbook up and running and I have a few niggles with Media player.
It came with Rev 9 but then was updated to 11 no problem, I have a number of videos on a USB HDD a few in AVI format will not play, and some VOB files that are on there are not recognised.
Is there anyway that get these formats to play? they work on my lappy with the same revision of Media Player.

Re: Media Player Codecs
As Taf says, either K-Lite mega codec pack and use mplayer classic that comes with it, or download and install vlc which has inbuilt codecs to play more or less anything

Re: Media Player Codecs
FFDShow is what I use - seems to decode anything bar QT. And Gom Player for playing, anything it can't play, it will search for the codec and tell you where to grab it......it will grab an Open Source DVD codec if you try to play a DVD in it, which you may need to play those .VOB files.
