Bluetooth speakers

Anyone know a decent set for as little as possible?
I bought a new Dell laptop and while i love the laptop, its spec and performance the speakers are absolutely diabolical, to the point that they actually hurt my ears the treble is so high, combined with absolutely no bass what so ever. My old HP speakers were fantastic for a laptop, but the laptop itself was just rubbish.

The most likely so far seems to be these: Acoustic Energy AE29-06A, which are mains powered.

The only other option is to send the laptop back and buy something else, but i did get a very good deal, which is the only reason im looking for alternatives.

Thanks

With these new laptops all the connections come out the side and i don't really like that. I was just going to put them under my laptop table, or across the room for when i want to play music. The laptop has built in bluetooth so im thinking this is my best solution.

Re: Bluetooth speakers

Just FYI for anyone else who may require some i settled on these: http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...tml?P36=CPY5F2

They are almost £60 on Amazon and sound pretty good for the price. I did originally go for for some Acounstic Energy ones at £52 but they wernt as good looking or performing imo.

Those side mounted connectors are a nightmare. I have a laptop with sound connectors to the side, and it's a massive design fault. The connectors are at the right hand side, where the mouse is. We have external speakers attached to it, and within about 3 months use the connector was knackered, as one tends to move the sound lead/lean on the plug when mousing. I ended up buying a USB sound card so it can plug into the back of the laptop.

Yeah they are awful, unfortunately the laptop doesn't have USB's on the back either! They seem to think it's better for the home user as my Latitude D631 has them on the back so they at least understand business users want rear connectors.

Yes, I can sort of see the reasoning for a 'laptop', but mine's a 17" fridge size affair that sits on the dining table and doesn't get moved at all. Surely these designers must realise that many laptops will have mice and speakers attached permanently?

Obviously not, haha. They seemed to start it when these 'entertainment' laptops came about. I think this is a good solution, although not ideal you can just bind anything bluetooth enabled and have good sound wherever you are.
