Threats to kill
Right then you legal lot of CF, if someone made a threat against your life by the way of someone is going to kill you what do you do?
1. Would you strike while the iron is hot and take him out before he gets the chance to have a pop at you.
2. Leave it and see if anything happens.
3. Fill him in then phone the Police and Ambulance then explain yourself to them when the damage has been done?
The 3rd option sounds good to me.

Re: Threats to kill
If someone made a threat against my life and I knew it was a real threat rather than an empty one, then me personally I would do him before he got the chance to do me. But as with most things in life its people talking BS thinking they are much more than what they really are.
I would choose option 1 if the threat was real, option 2 if it was an empty threat and I wouldnt choose option 3 if I knew that my liberty would be at risk because regardless of the situation you stove somebodys head in and go to the police you'll be nicked unless you could absolutly proove it was self defence.

Re: Threats to kill
I wouldn't follow any of your suggestions.
What I would do is procure a situation whereby the offender could be encouraged to repeat any threats he/she might have made. I would hopefully have a witness and would definately have a dictaphone to record such threats. Th ideal would be if the threats were made via a telephone call. They could then be recorded and the fact that the call was made is also recorded (i.e phone records).
As it is an offence to make threats to kill i would then see if i could interest the police.
revenge is a dish best served cold.

Re: Threats to kill
If you believe it's a real threat, inform the police now before anything happens. If you tell then you believe you are in danger they will take action.

Re: Threats to kill
If someone wanted you dead for real they would just do it and not threaten . Why make life difficult for themselves and put you on your guard. Most likely its someone putting the frighteners on you

Re: Threats to kill
Sorry folks I took option 3 about 15 minutes ago, it's not like me because I'm not the violent type, I get on with anyone who gets on with me but when a threat is made against your life you have to take it seriously, I didn't know if he had a knife on him when I collard him this morning so I got there first.
I'm sat here now waiting to see if the police turn up and cart me away.

Re: Threats to kill
As Zing says, if they were going to do it, they would do it. However, looking at the options, I would choose option 1.
I would get a few guys, bundle him into the back of a transit van, take him on a wee ride and give him a pair of concrete boots, before dropping the wee ned into the River Clyde!

Or indeed the Thames if you just happen to have moved to London

Hopefully the Old Bill doesn't read this forum, otherwise premeditation may be invoked.

Dude dude dude... you broke the cardinal rule and you instigated an altercation. You are now guilty of assault. How difficult is it to let them come to you? if they instigate you then can defend yourself. If you do get carted away its your own fault as you didnt think about what you were doing imo.
Did this guy actually threaten you himself? if so why didnt you do him then instead of waiting? I hope your not gonna tell me someone else told you
