Just 50Mb with stm of course, for the heavy terabyte per night downoaders
And us lot who have the dodgy connections only getting a measly 20Mb no doubt.

Re: Enjoy your speedy broadband Web access while you can

wouldn't surprise me TBH, there always going to be something that wants more bandwidth...

Personally I'd love it if all broadcast tv was replaced with VOD but I can't see that happening just yet.

I would guess it depends on what the backhaul is along with the contention ratio and then what they deem is necessary to maintain a reasonable standard of service for everyone else sharing the backhaul with you.

What do you mean by 2010, its happening already
hence why Most ISPS seem to be traffic shaping.

Re: Enjoy your speedy broadband Web access while you can

The Internet has always had the same problem. Demand for bandwidth has always outstripped supply.

Re: Enjoy your speedy broadband Web access while you can

I would certainly attempt to enjoy my "speedy broadband connection" while I can....if I did indeed actually have one, rather than the 30kbps "20mb" connection I currently get.

Not that I even get THAT tonight...it's gone off altogether, which means I have to use dialup, although at least that's faster than ntl broadband.
