Ooppss.. NEED HELP PLZ..! lost HDMI signal on VM+and now cant see picture in analoge

HI,

I had VM+ installed the other day.. was a happy chappy for about five minutes..!!!

the install engineers left me with an HDMI cable because they said they would only install throgh scart.. So being a bit of techy thought no problems will do it myself ..set the HDMI up no problems.. then thought i'll try component HD..

got myself some nice shiney component leads and thought would use those rather than HDMI cable though have plugged the HDMI cable in too.. set the stb to use component HD 720w tested the settings screen went blank and now cannot view the stb throght comp, HDMI or analog setting.. now stuffed..as cannot set back to analog signal..

Phoned VM+ tech support they tried to guide me blind to set the box back to analog though this did not appear to work.. then they told me it will take 4 days for and engineer to call me back..!! (4 working days) does anyone know a solution to this problem as VM+ CS do not..asked them cant you remote in and reset or jus tell me the factory reset for the stb.. the answer to which was no too both..

How crazy is this They told me it was my own fault for fiddleing and changing the settings..I explained sturny that I asked for an HD service and was expecting to engineer to set this up as HDtv.. VM+ CS told me that they are not allowed to touch customers tellys incase anything goes wrong .. i said your offering a HD service but not willing to configure it and then blameing the customer for screwing up the stb because i've been left to do it myself..??

I was wondering if anyone can advise me on what to do..next to get some sort of signal through analog.. some sort of reset or the process from the home page to get to the display settings.. wot a lot of hasttle when i cant even recieve sky1 anymore..

Hi there - have you tried:

Using the buttons on the front of the box, not the remote.

Press Reset

Press Play and Stop at the same time until, the front screen shows 'boot', you can then release the buttons

The front screen will then show 'outPt'

Press Fast Forward until it shows 'sd'. 'hdmi' and 'YPrPb' come up first

Then press OK

The display will then show 'sd' for 20 second, then go blank for 10 seconds. 'boot' will appear again for 10 seconds then go blank.

If everything has gone correctly, the V+ boot screen will show on the TV after 1 min 5 seconds

Just to clarify - that will set your output back to SCART.

The guy who installed my V+ yesterday attatched the HDMI lead and sorted my tv out for me.
I wouldn't have had a clue how to do it
