HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

I've connected my new V+ to my Tosh telly and gone through the setup - even pressing "text" on the HDMI channel .... and it works a treat. I can, on the HDMI channel on the tv, browse the channel guide.

Trouble is ... I don't get a tv picture.... odd

So i can select the hd channel, i know the connection works as i get the menu, but i don't get a normal tv picture. If I standby the box, on power up I can see a picture for a second before it reverts to browsing the guide only.

I've done a reformat... tried the 2nd hdmi connection and a 2nd cable.

Any pointers apperciated

Re: HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

First question, and I'm not being facetious - do you get a 'channel' picture when connecting by SCART?

Re: HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

D'oh I thought I'd covered all the bases... YEP picture from SCART (and RF) are fine and dandy... TV works with XBOX360 but that is DVI.

... and what a rapid response - Thanks

I'm a little confused by your question? I have that TV its a great set.
Are you asking where your TV picture is when you select HD?

Re: HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

Ah! I get that Had a VM chap out during the week who put me back to the SCART connection until Saturday when another VM chap is coming out to swap the box Sounds like the same symptons as yours but mine is intermittent and not just on the HD (108) channel. When it goes, is affects all channels but still records programmes OK.

Yep... I get the box telling me what i should be seeing but i just see a black screen... as i get the text I'm assuming the connection is cool... is that a fair assumption?

I agree - its a great tv which will pass for black or silver depending on the latest fad :-)

The way i have it set up is to plug you HDMI cable from the V+ box to HDMI 2 on the LCD. Do the settings thing (1008 or what ever it is) when the screen goes blank quickly change the channel to HDMI 2.

Should work. if not try here which will have the best settings for your TOSH. Its a great set enjoy.

Re: HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

Cheers Why hdmi 2? is it different / better than hdmi 1?

I do what you suggest on hdmi 1 and i can view the epg just not any moving pictures... the tv is set to hdmi 1 - I'm thinking dodgy V+.

Off to read the thread you pointed me at.

Re: HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

I've been all over the web tonight... looks like the TV is supported and "should" work. The V+ has been used with the Tosh elsewhere so I'm guessing I have a dodgy box. I'll power everything off tonight and see what shape we are in tomorrow... I'm about due a new IP address anyway...

Thanks all

I have a Tosh 32" WLT66 (which uses Tosh's Regza picture system) and my V+ box (connected to HDMI 1) works fine.

Re: HDMI 2 HDMI with Tosh Regza - menu no pic

Todays engineer was quite switched on and a nice bloke - he reached the same conclusions as me... ie the box maybe duff. Sadly he didn't have one in the van to prove the point. He did change some internal setting from 411Ghz to 666Ghz... no idea what that was all about. A chap called Eddie has been summonded (although not for a couple of weeks) - he is THE man for V+ up here. I was looking forward to the rugby in HD - but it wasn't to be today. I did get the STB upstairs provisioned with the movies... why the engineer had to phone in and give the card ID in another matter. Check back in two weeks :-)
