Linksys WRT54GSUK - Remote Access losing connection?

Hi -

searched the web, been on Linksys support and nothing so far. I had an SMC router with my 4mb BB. I've recently moved up to 10mb and it would only throughput 7mb.

I bought the above router and when using LogMeIn (remote access to my PC at home) it keeps hanging and disconnecting me. I didn't get this with my old router.

Any ideas? I seem to remember reading somwhere there might be some settings to change due to the same problem with torrents?

Any help most appreciated.

I use a WRT54GS with WRT-dd firmware, this sorts out the p2p thing and I've never had any problems with my remote access, works fine.

It might be worth upgrading the firmware.

Hm..maybe you shouldn't flash it then because, it will void the warranty.

Re: Linksys WRT54GSUK - Remote Access losing connection?

I upgraded the official firmware and still the same problem. Pile 'o' crap.

Two choices then -

1) take it back and swap for a Netgear
2) Upgrade to DD-WRT and hope it cures the problem - if not that's me screwed.

If I upgraded to DD-WRT - would I be able to flash it back if need be?

thanks for your help
