Re: Netgaurd Home networking

Sorry to hear about your problems. I used NTL Netguard without a problem until I setup my home network and then I encountered exactly the same problem you describe. I tried everything without success and eventually contacted NTL technical support. After a lot of testing they concluded that NTL Neguard CANNOT be configured for network file sharing and so I had to ditch Neguard. I moved to ZoneAlarm Security Suite and it works very well indeed - but, unfortunately, unlike Neguard, it is not free!

Re: Netguard Home networking

If you have a home network behind a router (which has a built-in firewall) the MS XP SP2 firewall should be sufficient and does allow file sharing. If you do use the XP firewall, Windows Defender is also a good idea to warn about untended opening of extra ports.

Re: Netguard Home networking

ntl Netguard doesn't support file-sharing through your network. This is the reason I moved to ZoneAlarm too.
