Orange / Wanadoo Mac addy filtering?!?

Does anyone know if Orange have or are filtering mac addresses on their network?

I ask this as I have a friend who has a D-Link router which was working just fine until he went on holiday. Came back and now the Router won't sync a all.

I have checked all the settings, user/pass - VPi/VCi - PPPoA - All are correct as to what the USB modem sync's up with, but it will not connect. Also, the routers logs say DSL arrier is trainning / DSL Carrier is down - and I know this to be a lie as I am connected on it now as I type this.

Anyone sched any light?

Thanks.

Has your friend got the orignial supplied modem? Can that connect direct with a PC? If not you'll know the connection is at fault. If it does work then you can look more closely at the router.

Re: Orange / Wanadoo Mac addy filtering?!?

Hi Rob,

I've got his machine hooked up through the usb modem that was supplied and it looks like there is no problem with the line.

The router was working fine up until about a week ago and then just suddenly stopped. I've reset it, re-configured it and still it won't connect, very odd.

Maybe there is a problem with it, but I was just curious as to whether or not there was any kind of filtering in place.

If they are restricting access per MAC address then you could just clone the MAC address of the Wanadoo-supplied modem.
