Set up problems with DVD Recorder

HiI am new to the forum and looking for a little help. I can not record from my Telewest Hard Drive and slowly losing patience with it :}

Here is what I have

A Samsung HDTV
A Telewest HDTV TV Drive
A samusng DVD Recorder R128

My DVD recorder will not pick up any signals from the Telwest Box. The only reason I want to record stuff is to clear of the STB Hard Drive. The DVD recorder stores upt o 40 Channels but I Understand that the DVD recorder will only pick up one channel - but I can't even get that!

Here are the connections I have:
HDMI Cable - STB to TV
SCART 1 - STB(TV) to TV (EXT 1 RGB)
SCART 2 - STB(VCR) to DVD(AV2 EXT)
SCART 3 - DVD(AV1 TV) to TV(EXT 2 AV)

I can remove SCART 1 because the picture it sent throught he HDMI cable.

If anyone can help I would much appreciate it!

Re: Set up problems with DVD Recorder

Silly question, but are you setting the DVD to record from SCART, rather than one of the RF channels?
As it stands, the only thing the DVD will pick up is the Scart output from the TVDrive - ie what is showing on the TV!
I don't know TVDrive, but does using HDMI output disable the SCART output?

Re: Set up problems with DVD Recorder

I am only using scart cables at the moment, so do you think it would help to use the RF sockets? I also spoke to Telewest who siad that having the tv and telewest box on HD should not make a difference. I am a little suspicious of this. Originally hooking up the hd tv we had to change the output in the STB.

Cheers for your help

Re: Set up problems with DVD Recorder

To record the 'recorded contents' of the TV drive you will need to record from SCART. The DVDR should allow you to change input source to scart and you should see the same output as on your scart TV input - ie the two scart sockets on the TVDrive should be showing the same content.
As I say, I'm not sure if enabling HDMI will disable scart, but hopefully not. Try switching to the RGB input on your TV and see whether you are getting a signal from the TVDrive.
