Ntl Free
Hey, I would like to know somthing from the smart cable people on this forum.
I used to have ntl tv in my bedroom, then i turned it off, the wire that i was using seems to be active, because i use that wire to get basic 1-5 channels. I changed my tv and now I have a few more channels eg Mtv, Sky One still using that same wire that is connected through ntl somhow.
I wanted to know, if I added an analoge or digital reciver to the wire that goes into the tv, it is possibke to receive even more channels?
Could sombode please help me with please.
Thanks.

Re: Ntl Free
the answer is not easily & not legally.
what you are currently getting are the unencrypted analogue channels that your tv can tune in.
To get any more you need the decoder and the only legal way to get one is to subscribe to NTL.
I'm sure the mods on here won't allow discussion much beyond that, but suffice to say that any STB not supplied by NTL is still their property and if you obtained one you would be handling stolen goods.
- sorry

Re: Ntl Free
Happily. If you call ntl sales I am sure they'll be able to arrange you a Set Top Box and a subscription at a competitive monthly rate.
There is no 'free' package as such it's just channels 1-5.
If of course you are after a set top box to nick free cable, which is to be honest implied, feel free to give me your post code and I'll arrange for you to be properly disconnected from the street cabinet you are connected to. Nicking cable is theft and people can and do get put in the nick for it.
Also most channels are encrypted, so you'd have to go even further into the realms of dodginess to actually get anything else.
*censored* disconnection people not doing their job.

Re: Ntl Free
Well I was just posting this message as I heard about somone in a chat room who had done it. You guys take this very seriously I see, LOL. It's always interesting to know how things like that happen. So even if i added an analoge box, it wouldn't help me i guess...
I don't have any Ntl things in my house, I was just finding out about it thats all. You guys are the Cable know it alls
You can just tell me how it works or somthing...

Re: Ntl Free
....or to save you the hassle, you could just only come back and use the site when you need it?

I can do this for you right now if you wish ssd. FYI: We do not allow discussion on illegally obtaining services from ntl/TW, this is theft and isn't fair on honest paying customers.

I don't have any to hand, feel free to start a thread in the appropriate forum area and ask there.
As this is the ntl forum area and it isn't related. I'll close this thread.
