Ntl/outlook Express

I wonder if anyone can help me here..... I use ntl for my dial-up but use Outlook Express for mail. When I click on Mail a message pops up saying that I am already connected and it gives me the option to 'look for the server on the current connection' (!) Also......is there a way I can launch Internet Explorer automatically on dial-up at the moment I have to click on Internet Explorer before I can open my home page. I think my ntl settings need tweaking....???? I would appreciate any advice. Saffydoodle xx

Regarding Outlook Express...

go to tools -> accounts-> mail
then double click on the ntlworld account. Go to the connection tab and uncheck "always connect to this account using..."

I can't think of a way to launch IE automatically but that doesn't mean there isn't one....

Re: Ntl/outlook Express

If you put a shortcut to internet explorer on the desktop you just have to double click this to open IE. In IE go to tools/intenet options/connections and make sure that the "Dial whenever a network connection is not present" button is ticked.

I thought you had to use the ntl dialler software to connect through.... will doing this launch the dialler instead of the standard windows dialup connection??

That's the way I used to do it when I had NTL dial-up. Not strictly that way though, I had the shortcut in the quick start bar so it only needed one click.
