This morning I received an email from Ntlworld

Dear user of Ntlworld.com,

Some of our clients complained about the spam (negative e-mail content)
outgoing from your e-mail account. Probably, you have been infected by
a proxy-relay trojan server. In order to keep your computer safe,
follow the instructions.

Pay attention on attached file.

Attached file is protected with the password for security reasons. Password
is ???????? ( password deleted)

Q1 Has this come from Ntl
Q2 My pc is regularly scanned with Spybot and adaware, Zone alarm basic and Antivir Antivirus. So is this a scam or not?

Yeah it's a scam, there's a few threads here on emails like this. In fact I'm sure it says on ntl's homepage that they NEVER send out emails signed off with the "ntlworld.com team".

Delete it and as long as you didn't open any attachments, forget about it.
