Creating a DVD-Video from SVCD bin and cues

I'm errrr, backing up some of my videos, or whatever.

Anyway, I have two SVCD bin files (two parts of a movie), and two corresponding cue files, and what I want to basically do is create a DVD-Video format disc out of them. Can/how do I do this?

Re: Creating a DVD-Video from SVCD bin and cues

Firstly use VCDGear to extract the .mpg file out of the .bin file. You can download it from http://www.vcdgear.com It is free, and excellent.

Once you have done that, you need some DVD authoring software. Free ones are few and far between. I use ULEAD Movie Factory 3, which is good, but not free. If you only have a couple to make you can use the trial versions. I have seen somewhere (but i've forgotten), some DVD authoring software that authors DVDs, but will only accept DVD format video. If that is the case, download TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/) They do a free version, and a not-so-free Plus version, but both convert video to DVD format.

HTH anyway.

Yes, it will, but I found it very poor (the encoding was very slow: 1hr for a 5 minute music video, 20 odd hours for a shortish movie. The result was very blocky too.), The Nero codecs are renouned for being terrible, but it did work.

What kind of quality do you get after you put the SVCD through this process?

what exactly do u mean dvd format, do u want menus etc, remember recoding to dvd will not improve quality it will almost certainly make it worse.
P.s most dvd players will play svcd mpeg files on a dvd disk without authoring
