Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I got a letter stating that because I am a new customer I will be getting an upgrade from 50 to 120mbps*
In fact, so is every customer, of any age.
* Except that I won't

Virgin already upgrading people?
So i run a computer shop, and ive just had one of my regular customers in claiming that he's been upgraded to 60Mbit already. He says he phoned up customer services and they performed the upgrade over the phone.
Now in my area, it says July onwards, so i'm a bit skeptical as to the truth of his statement. Saying that, i don't believe much of what he usually says but it has me curious.
Funilly enough when the 4Mbit service got upgraded to 10, i phoned up and they also did that for me over the phone, so i suppose it's slightly possible.
Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards male cow turd.

if he had the shub not impossible, but i doubt they upgrade a area arly as i think there some work needs one before the upgrade
---------- Post added at 12:55 ---------- Previous post was at 12:49 ----------
get him to print out his modem config page to prove it also get him to run a speed test and email you the link for the results at the very least his upload should be faster

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Merged the last 3 posts as basically it's on the same subject. I'll start a new thread based on reporting which areas have the updates so that memebers can keep track of timelines and areas upgraded

Is Letchworth covered by those areas? I was told that I would get an upgrade to 120mb by April.

For anyone else using that link, it didn't work on IE, but did on Firefox.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Personally I'd rather they stabilise what I have already (only 10Mb!). I seem to spend half my time resetting my modem. I've been told by a network guy that the local muxer has a power supply problem!!

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
Well today i called to cancel my services due to the price increase...
i got upgraded from 10mb to 60mb (upgrade hasnt been completed in my year yet) said it would take 24 hours, was done within minutes, for an extra £1 and also got my price increase given back to me.
