I'm pretty sure you can't launch an SD channel on Sky now without buying a vacant slot , example BT Sports used ESPN's SD slots , so if Bio was to continue why would its slots be given for use with Lifetime ?

But the biggest thing holding this up is rights issues. I'm sure VM would love to enable all these things on Tivo (including Tivo Stream) but are held up because of rights issues. Look at MRS as an example.

We have a slightly different package, with 2 x TiVos and 1 x V+HD Box, XL TV, 60MB BB plus Phone Line paid monthly.
Our monthly charge is £64.49

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
I got a 2nd TiVo for my daughters room with the promise of loads of mrs channels soon to be available, still waiting think vm have given up on that one now like there on demand service and tv anywhere app.
Sky on demand service is now far superior and there sky go app on iPad whilst less channels as quality channels and you can download to watch when not connected.
That is one thing that winds me up about vm they have these great ideas but never fully back em

A+E currently own a slot from when they closed Bio+1 down a while back.
Again no confirmation of shut down as they have not confirmed the end of BARB reporting, but the TV guide isn't going past November 3rd on the website.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
The MRS issue is one that really frustrates me. I got a 2nd TIVO specifically for this purpose in November 2011 after the 15.2 update was released, bought some homeplugs and got the boxes talking to each other. All that I needed to patiently wait for was the rights. Yet to this day I can't find a recording that I have made that I am able to stream.
The Virgin/TIVO deal was announced four years ago now, and MRS was being talked about in the press as a potential feature almost immediately. Presumably it was talked about internally long before the deal was announced too. They really have had ample time to sort the rights out. A big opportunity missed in my opinion. Maybe 2014 will be the year for MRS!

Yup, that's broadly what was posted

Which channels can be used with MRS?

Update Re: Premier Sports.
I've just made some enquiries and, as it currently stands, it appears that Premier Sports won't be going into the XL TV package.
In an effort to appease MP's, a compromise has been offered where the channel will still be standalone, but the owners of the channel have been offered more favourable terms than the previous owners of VM were prepared to offer.
Nobody has heard ANYTHING about Baby TV going into XL. Personally, I would now put this down as a rumour without foundation.

Appease what MP's?
If you read the actual article it turns out it was the chairman of the rugby club who just happened to be an MP. There was no political pressure on VM at all, and there shouldn't be for something as pathetic as it was!
