The London server tests are said to be more reliable than the Manchester server

It is more than many other companies would offer without charging.
So I'll say it.Thank you very much Virgin Media.

Why not ask to pay more instead.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
You actually believe that the price rises wouldn't have happened if the upgrades didn't go ahead

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Well, vm want to force migrate everyone onto tivo, so prices were going to rise, its just now there's larger price hikes because of the "free" upgrades.
Nothing is free, not even death.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
When vm signed the deal with tivo, they said their whole network would go onto the tivo platform and everyone would need a box that is capabale of running the tivo epg. Hence why we have huge price rises coming to pay for "free" broadband upgrades and to pay "activation" fees to migrate onto tivo.

Yes.
The prices would have gone up anyway, just like they always do.

Fuel prices at the petrol stations go up more frequently and at a higher rate - but I don't see people making such a fuss about that!

You can always go elsewhere if you do not want to pay the small increase in price which actually has not doubled the price, you do have that option open to you, BT would welcome you with open pockets.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Once BT roll out FTTC and a youview box i'll switch to BT or Sky as they will have their youview competitor iptv box. Could save quite a lot of cash I reckon and i wouldn't be on 5mb after downloading a few gig

That's because the 100Mb price has been reduced to the price of 50Mb but by more than £5.75 it's just your tv/phone etc have raised it again

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I'm on 50mb and have had the letter about going up to 100mb and then 120mb once it is available,
our area can already handle 100mb already so does that mean the first part will get done quite quick as it's surely just a case of enabling my account to be 100mb because i already have the hardware to handle it.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
It's not that simple, as it's down to making sure there is enough capacity to support everyone moving up a speed as well as whether the area can technically do the speed
