Iam sure you can watch these programmes on other channels or even on demand.
I Personally iam not bothered about getting sky atlantic just like every channel eventually they all start to show repeats.

Sky Atlantic is no different from any other pay TV channel in that it shows repeats , do you seriously expect every hour to be filled with new content Isn't this why the PVR was introduced to allow you to series link your favourite shows from each channel , each to their own but in my opinion Atlantic has shown some great shows of late , that said I don't believe any platform should pay over the odds to carry it.

All you are doing is showing a HD version of the same channel (nearly all programmes are filmed in HD anyway), so there should not be much expence in the first place

I get the fact that they cant show new stuff all the time but on the other hand 6pm so called primetime!!
I agree with your last quote no platform should pay over the odds for it.

If l righty remember l said it was possible but as we all know the talks failed but this is now this year and things can change very quickly in a everchanging TV landscape.

Broadcast: ESPN review options after Premier League rights loss.
Media web site Broadcast is reporting:

A variety of options are understood to be under consideration by the broadcaster, including cutting subscription costs, targeting new rights in different sports, and merging with Sky’s sports bundle.

Sometime before June 2019.

But if Virgin Media are in talks with BSkyB to carry Sky Atlantic we may also get Pick TV +1, Sky News HD & Sky Sports News HD as part of that new deal.
But saying that I have not seen any update on Virgin being in talks with BSkyB over Sky Atlantic in months.

June 2019 or 2020. A 10 year carriage agreement was agreed as part of the sale of VMTV to SKY.

Are you suggesting that ESPN might sell UK channel (SD and HD) to Sky Sports?
If that was the case will ESPN (UK) become Sky Sports 5 and ESPN HD (UK) become Sky Sports 5 HD?
It looks like VM (or whatever its called by then) will have to wait for Sky Atlantic for another 8 years then!

My feeling is that VM will not be around in 8 years or so. A company providing cable possibly , but as it is setup - I feel that is unlikely. Things move on, Do not think that as a company VM thinks out of the box enough to attract the sales needed to survive that long .Me Den.
