The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (extended DVD)
8/10
Still brilliant, although the Shire stuff at the start drags.
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (extended DVD)
9/10
Awesome.
Helm's Deep....

It's what happens when you trust a man with an egg.
Kill Bill - just watched it tonight on BBC2. Incredible. The mixing of black and white with colour, the music, the stylised violence, the Japanese animation (I forget the name)... One of the best movies I've seen in a long while - 10/10

Kill Bill Vol1 is much better if you watch the uncut (also don't go black and white) version. That's a 10/10 film.

Will have to watch the DVD some time - when I get a DVD player. I do like black and white film/photography when it's used in a creative way.

Deja Vu. Pretty good action film based up some decidedly dodgy "science". Typical Jerry Bruckheimer fare: Good action, good explosions (it starts with one mother of an explosion), good performances from all the lead characters and an OK story.
6 out of 10 (just don't expect to think about the story too much).

Actually, I think that the way Black and White is used in Kill Bill 1 really does add impact to the film.

Hey - I only recently (last few months) obtained colour TV. "Borrowed" a portable from my parents when my black and white TV died on me.

Parents are very useful for many things (my daughter at Uni has found) - food, money, clothes, a sympathetic ear.

"you, me and dupree" - I struggled to stay awake - it's a comedy of 1 hour 45 with about 5 mins of laughs.
