I believe he is an accountant by trade and as such he has done a good job in restructuring the debt at VM and actually making them profitable, so much so that Liberty Global have decided that it is worth a take over bid.

Amongst other things, broadband speeds have increased from a top speed of 20Mbit to 120Mbit, 4 disperate companies have been merged, TiVo has launched and is attracting new subscribers, Sky HD channels have been made available, plus lots of other things people forget.

Oh and the share price has tripled since Neil B took over (compared with a 48% increase for Sky in the same period) and the company has gone from being financially unsound to making a profit in the first time in UK cable history

What are the missing CBS channels? I would find Horror+1 useful.

Just a couple of timeshifts. They did announce HD versions of the channels for Freesat a few years ago but nothing has come of it.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.

Some years ago I had major problems with TV, broadband etc; I was told by a tech that I needed a repull whch would not happen for some months. One email to Neil Berkett and I had a external and internal re-cableing within 48 hours, he is a top man in my department

Gotta disagree kop32. I have seen massive changes in my time with VM and from when my parents previously had good old Cambridge Cable too!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.

...But does the projected takeover, and subsequent fudging about while it's all approved by the the mergers and monoply guys mean that it is very inlikly for anything new to be added in the mean time (apart from any channels that are already signed to come on-line)? Are we going to see a period of stagnation whilst the hand over is complete.
