Thanks nash, now got to try and keep myself positive over Christmas which hopefully I can do. Maybe this will be the first guilt free Christmas since 2001 for me? Fingers crossed.

The OH and I are going down to Cornwall tomorrow for a week+ in my mothers place. Got some tasks to do but it's really a bit of R&R for us both. We'll have a day's overlap with my older sister but she's doing a Sunday roast. She does a good spread.
A friend is house sitting for us.

Finished for the year, thank God. Holiday though seems to be all screwed up so going to email HR woman in the morning and tell her I'd rather lose my 14 days holiday and I'll just go straight back to JSA for a month.

JSA could very well be refused for that 2 week period if you have an underlying entitlement to holiday pay from an employer.

I realise that a lot of conditions have changed since I last dealt with Benefit regulations but I would hate to see you loose out financially, especially coming up to Christmas.

Good point, but ugh. This company just take the biscuit when it comes to dealing with stuff like this. First we had to ask our managers about what holiday entitlement we had, they didn't know so had to take names down and ask HR at HO then text/email us then we need to go online and book it. But only 2 weeks in advance, so I am stuck for a fortnight in December without money anyway.
I might look into whether I can claim Universal Credit instead of JSA. Someone else I work with does, and has been for months now.

 | This link to the CAB may give you some useful advise. Knowing where you stand will be useful when you actually make any claim.

YEEHAW! Finally got an email this afternoon telling me that my holiday request has been approved. Now off on holiday from 22nd to December 5th, and also got my claim for Universal Credit opened up yesterday.
