I hope they aren't upgrading baguley closest to furthest away. Have a feeling Stoke is the furthest away.

As far as I can see the outer limits of our area are Birkenhead (approx 43 miles), Macclesfield (approx 16 miles), Runcorn (approx 25 miles), Stoke (approx 48 miles), Warrington (approx 18 miles), Brombrough (approx 28 miles), with Stretford, Wilmslow and Withington being only a stones throw away.

So by a short straw it appears that you beat your nearest rival of Birkenhead.

Yes, I mean No (I think). On the rare times I've used Virgin's technical phone support, I've found they've been good for solving simple problems. Not so good for anything more complex but I've always found them helpful. Could be better but at least it's free now, if you've got a Virgin phone package.

No sign of the upgrade here in Birmingham yet. In fact my service has dropped to 1meg over the last day. (yeh, done all the resets, reboots, etc, etc)

UPDATED - it's down to 768 - arghhhhhhhh - what's happening

And here in Birkenhead, we have been savouring the delights of 10mb for almost two weeks now!

Ah right, I thought you were going to say it had been pushed back another few months! I read earlier in this thread that it was going to be in May, and it seems that that was a date which had been pushed back from earlier in the year!

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

I'd have thought that Manchester would've been done after the first area (Preston) had been done... what they're doing doesn't make any sense at all - and now we have to wait even longer?? What did Manchester (and the most part of the NW) ever do to deserve the 'get to the back of the queue' treatment? And what did Preston do to be one of the first areas for the 10meg rollout?
I'm sat here absolutely mystified now............................................... ..........
