it's a nice idea poorly done as you get points for shaking hands at the start of a match and if your fans clap when the other team scores you get points.. so you can do loads of cheating on the pitch and still pick up points
i think the only been of fair play i've seen in the past few years was when Fowler fell over the keeper when he rushed out and waved at the ref to say no it wasn't a pen and that was quite a few years ago
|
Paolo Di Canio catching the ball when the keeper was injured?
We're going to lose today. Pedersen's in goal and he's ****e.

Correct !
But they go into the Qualifying rounds, if they get through 2 qualifying rounds, they then go into the first round proper. And then onto the group stages, if there are successful.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Thats what I thought, some crappy draw. Don't you remember Di Canio catching the ball with an open goal in front of him so Everton's (IIRC) goalkeeper could be treated.

1-1 not too bad at least we didn't lose. Still don't see what Gary Holt does.

Falkirk 1 - Rangers 0
Loving it - cracking game in crap weather, our first win over the huns since 1971 and thoroughly deserved too.
Could the Bairns be about to end the managerial career of ANOTHER SPL manager...

Newell charged with improper conduct.
Quote:
Mike Newell, manager of English second division club Luton Town, has been charged with improper conduct by the FA after making sexist comments about a lineswoman last month.
The former Everton striker was severely reprimanded by the club after an outburst about lineswoman Amy Rayner and other female match officials following a 3-2 home defeat by Queens Park Rangers on Nov. 10.
Now he faces punishment by the FA.
"Newell has been charged with improper conduct to the extent that his comments related to assistant referee Amy Rayner personally, and with failing to act in the best interests of the game to the extent that his comments were made about the role of women match officials in football generally," an FA statement said on Wednesday.
|
I wonder if anyone on this forum agrees with Newell ?

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Why do United make us suffer, well, the United fans anyway.
Quote:
The night turned out to be a comfortable one for United, but the home fans will wonder why it took until Nelson's strike for them to play with the sort of tempo that went on to cause Benfica all sorts of problems.
|
Quite !!!!
United 3 Benfica 1
It's interesting to note that all the premiership teams topped their respective groups
Oh, and it's nice to see Celtic in the knock out phase
