We have an install on Thursday (03/11/16) received email last night, saying we'll be one of the first to experience the new V6 Box, lots of waffle about it won't look like the box on website (assume referring to normal Tivo box) then going on about how good it'll be with 4K Netflix & YouTube, not much more info than that.

More updates on Thursday when installed.
 | we look forward to hearing your thoughts about the new box!

You'd think they'd have the sense to issue them to customers who can no longer tolerate the old box. Some have been customers for over 20 years and VM have effectively just shrugged their shoulders (they did this to me after 17 years).

Its cheaper to keep an existing customer as opposed to touting for a new one; they really don't have a clue.
 | Given theres no mention of the V6 on the website, it sounds as though this could still be trials, rather than a full roll-out at this stage. It's more effective in terms of resource and cost to install at a property where an install is already required, rather than making a special visit.

To be fair, Richard, you're basing this on one post.

If this proves to be the case in reality, then you are justified to complain, because that would be unfair.

But one Swallow, does not a summer make.

Also, it could be because he's 'defected' from Sky, and VM want him to be impressed. Again, not fair, but makes commercial sense.

Let's wait and see before jumping to conclusions.

What I found out was they offered 10,000 beta testers totally free boxes, but **** sake why new customers, it should have been only existing customers but around 6000 new customers ****

Well it is said to have dual band wifi wow, oh wait I'm not a new customer. If I added a new box for 6.50 a month I might make it onto the beta list but 15 years spending around £13,000 isn't a good enough reason, maybe I'll defect why not

There are a couple of people here ranting and raving without knowing any info. I know the facts, and I'm sure the majority of the staff on here do, but I'm not sure what's public and what's not, so I shall keep my mouth shut. But these people ranting should probably calm down, they'll end up giving themselves a heart attack!

Care to share? If it's out this week surely staff can now enlighten us.

 | Horizon has suggested that an announcement might be made to coincide with LGI's Q3 earnings conference call on Friday 4th November.
