I did ,i just assumed that the evidence to back up his claim would be forthcoming. since that isn't the case his evidence will treated as hearsay (some would say BS but i'm not like that)

OK if you feel it was slanderous feel free to take legal action or use the 'report post' function by clicking on the red triangle with the ! in the middle, to the lower left of the post.

Oh please, stop it with this evidence showing proof thing. who was it that started this craze thing off anyway that we're all using in every thread now?
I still think she'll resign soon.

I think the context in how he was saying it was this proof thing. you can say he's a burglar without proof that he is. and he would see it as slander anyway.
not that he is saying it is slander now, because he knows you were just saying it as an example.

Re: Diane Abbott apologises in 'race' row
This thread has demonstrated perfectly the main problem with race in the UK and the level of sensitivity much of it in my mind overly sensitive. As a white person (i hate labelling myself that way i am just another imperfect human being like 6 billion others) i never know what the correct terminology is from one year to the damn next. Once upon a time you couldn't or were ill advised to say black as you were somehow singling them out but now trying to be sensitve and using the generic term "coloured" gets you into trouble as well it really is pathetic.
As long as we keep identifying ourselves by colour, culture or religion we will have unrest in society because those definitions are alien from one group to the next only clearly being understood in the most general terms and reference. Why we cannot see each other as one more human being and act accordingly towards each other is completely beyond me why do some feel the need to attach labels unless they want to be different and if thats the case shut the hell up when someone makes comments based on that.
Diane abbot is not an idiot and having looked through the tweets much as i can find i see no relevent context for the comment she made so an apology isn't enough. I would like a clear explanation from her why she went off at that tangent bringing something into the conversation that was nothing to do with the subject matter. If she can do that i will happily abandon my belief she should resign which despite the protestations of one member is a common result of making these kinds of comments if you are white.

Okay let me first say what Diane Abbott said was how can I put it....clumsily put
She works in the political system where she sees thing that you are not privy to she also has life experiences that you are not privy of. So I may have better understanding of her views.
She has seen how âthe establishmentâ (which we know are white heterosexual males) have made things difficult for ethnic minorities .
However, I like others always laugh when I hear the word âBlack Communityâ or âBlack Community Leadersâ banded about - As my first thought is where is this Black Community or who maketh you our leader where and when was the election.
When people of Diane Abbott age group hear younger people dismiss the phrase âBlack Communityâ or âBlack Community Leadersâ they take it as a personal insult as that young person is benefiting from the tireless work people like Diane Abbott have put in.
I could go on about experiences of ethnic minorities (but Russ would want links to websites) and I canât be asked.

nonsense ,ethnic minorities have as much say in this country as anybody else ,in fact i will go as far as to say that in my opinion their voice is louder

There shouldn't be a "black community" there should just be a "community"
Abbots tireless work for the "black community" only serves to encourage distance between blacks and whites and does nothing for racial harmony ,as i said before she and others like her are the "black communities"worst enemy

Maybe that's because the youngsters have more sense and don't want to be singled out into a separate community or treated as a cause to be fought for by someone with a political agenda

no, He,I and others(mainly the mods) would want some tangible evidence if you are going to make claims of racism

From her own website:-
Quote:

London Schools and the Black Child is an initiative I started in the 1990s to deal with the increasing problem of educational underachievement in Black communities.

Diane attends launch of new group âKurds for Labourâ

Abbott Calls for More Support for Black Teachers

Labour can still help black jobless youth:

and there are many more examples on her own website.
So who's responsible for any 'dividing and conquering'?

Well said. I've always said that some black people don't do themselves any favours by making these unique groups, communities, associations, greatest hits albums, beginning with the word black.
a white person is free to join you say?
