If it wasn't for TiVo I would be looking at the dark side and not worry about the VOD.
However those evil VM people are giving me free TiVo on Friday so I am stuck with them for another year
I agree TED Anytime is ok but it is a pain when you get content delivered your not subscribed to. There is a lot of talk about sky opening Anytime+ up eventually to people with other ISP's.

Anytime and anytime + are different things...
Anytime is over sat and Sky choose what it is
Anytime+ is their VOD service

Many thanks for your email and for taking the time to write to Virgin Media.
It's great to hear that you're a big fan of US sports and enjoy watching ESPN America and ESPN. It's also nice to hear you enjoy watching ITV4 and would like to watch both channels in HD.
We hope you're enjoying watching all the HD channels we launched last year, including BBC1 HD, ITV1 HD and ESPN HD
It's really helpful to hear comments from customers like you as it helps us develop our future thinking and product roadmap. However, it's not always possible for us to carry every channel due to capacity and commercial considerations but we constantly review and evolve the channels we make available.
In the meantime, we hope you continue to enjoy watching ESPN America and the other US sports available in high definition on ESPN HD, including: NBA, NHL and NFL Monday Night Football in addition to other sports in high definition including the UEFA Champions League on ITV1 HD.
Thanks again for your feedback.
Kind regards
Rob

You can only assume there is an issue, after all the people writing these emails are at the top of VM.

There is plenty of capacity, so it's more likely a commercial reason. I wouldn't read too much in to the exact wording.

Re: Espna hd
I love ESPNHD as a UK football watcher, slightly ironic my wife is American but doesn`t watch sport since Henry left Arsenal soo not a big deal for me.
I don`t have the time to get into NBA and the ice hockey.

I guess the only way will know for sure is if we get more HD channels launched without losing any more SD channels.

Re: Espna hd
Seems such a shame not to have it, American HD always seems far superior to what's filmed over here - NBA on main ESPN channel looks amazing. Would be brilliant if they brought it onto VM, Wilbon was made for HD. Can't see it happening this year sadly.

Re: Espna hd
After 20 days sending an email to cindy I have had this reply
Quote:
Dear Mr Dale,
Many thanks for your email and for taking the time to write to Virgin Media, we really value feedback from our customers.
It's great to hear that you're a big fan of ESPN America and we hope you continue to enjoy watching the channel along with the other US sports available, in high definition, on ESPN HD including: NBA, NHL and NFL Monday Night Football.
It's also nice to hear that you're pleased with the numerous HD channels we added last year, and there are now over 15 channels included for free as part of our XL TV pack, including ESPN HD and Eurosport HD. In addition, we also launched Sky Sports HD 1 & 2 and ten Sky Movie HD channels.
We offer a comprehensive music service with a range of channels, including MTV and Kerrang, plus up to 3,000 music videos available on demand (VOD).
Thanks for your interest in our new TiVo powered set top box, which will make it easier than ever to discover content from our wide range of channels and large library of VOD content, as well as enabling you to store up to 100 hours of HD content on the terabyte hard drive. Somebody should be in touch with you by the end of the month with more details on this.
We appreciate that you would like to see more channels on your TV service, however, it's not always possible for us to carry every channel due to capacity and commercial considerations but we constantly review and evolve the channels we make available. It's really helpful to hear comments from customers like you as it helps us develop our future thinking and product roadmap.
Thanks again for your feedback.
Kind regards

To some it up its a load of crap not answering any of the questions asked except blaming it on capacity really.
If capacity is such a big problem they might as well give up being a TV/Quad Provider.
Yes sky is expense the first 12 months but they throw out half price deals out to keep you so paying the first 12 months should be worth it. Virgin have 6 months or I'm going to sky for more HD!

I don't like the way they work, there content is outstanding and cannot be beaten . However amongst all the good stuff you have to wade through a load of old rubbish.
I had Sky before VM and my mother still has them and she agrees with me, but she has no choice.
