Sounds very ominous so I'l pass until that is cleared up.

It means you can only receive the service while you are VM BB and XLTV/TV Choice customer. I agree it could have been worded better though.

I tried the VM Player on my mobile (WM6.5) and got told it wasn't supported. So they don't support IPhone (I can understand that, Apple need to get their head's out of their proprietary arses and deserve everything they get until they do), WM6.5 (I don't understand that it's the latest Windows mobile O/S with the latest mobile Flash Player and it's the flagship Virgin Mobile phone). So what do they support? Android only??? I can't seem to find any info on their site.

Anyone in the know?

WM6.5 only supports flash lite, and there's no way that a WM6.5 is VM's flagship mobile anymore when they're offering the desire and samsung galaxy s.

It works perfectly on android 2.2 though (as does any flash streaming site).

I doubt they support ANY mobile platform, it's just a case of it working on android because it supports the full version of flash 10.1.

Thanks for the pointer about Adblock Plus. I wondered why it got stuck.

I've got it working here on Chrome on Mac OS 10.5.8.

I'm a bit disappointed that it's just a simple Flash player. I like the way that Sky Player integrates into Windows Media Center and on the XBox 360 so you can use it on a TV with a remote control.

Hmmm, HTC HD2 is still more expensive than the Desire but more importantly, Desire and Galaxy are Android. It's like comparing an Amiga to a C64. Who the heck wants a crappy Android phone??? The whole reason for Android is so that less powerful phones can look like they can run an O/S at a reasonable speed. There's a very good reason why you can't buy TomTom, Route66 etc for Android!

I still think it's odd that I can play YouTube Flash videos in my browser on my WM6.5 phone but not watch VM video.

Android is FAR FAR superior to your beloved WM 6.5, WM is BY FAR the worst mobile OS around.
Android grows from strength to strength, as for "less powerful" the top of the line android handsets are the most powerful handsets you can get, exceeding even the iphone 4. The galaxy will be able to run flash the second 2.2 hits for it, which is imminent.

Once again, your crappy wm 6.5 phone supports FLASH LITE, any android phone running 2.2 runs the full version of flash 10.1, THAT is why it works on them and not your wm 6.5 phone, because your phone DOES NOT have the full desktop version of flash. Unlike the "crappy android" "less powerful" phones.

They aren't targeting the vm player at mobiles, this is web based, it's for use on the desktop. In future there will be mobile VERSIONS of the VM player, it isn't going to be a case of using the desktop version on a mobile device, that will always be unsupported.

Yes: They haven't developed them yet. There are apparently some concerns over licencing and one of the APIs they need to use. This is the same situation they had with the iPhone a year or so ago, and they were able to overcome it there, so I've no doubt they'll overcome it here.

Sorry, I managed to miss your post a while back.

Android phones aren't the most powerful phones around although I must admit that they seem to have caught up. They were initially crappy phones though which took advantage of the lower processing power needed to run the o/s.

I notice also that the new Apple tablet clones (Dell, Samsung, etc) are running Android so I guess I may need to re-evaluate.

I don't know where you get your last comment from though. This is a quote from the FAQ section of the website and was up on day one of the beta release:-

I wish the mobile signal was good enough to use it here! The last time I used it, it was very jerky, it was like watching a slide show on your phone. Maybe they've improved it since. I bet I wouldn't like the data charges using it abroad though! :-(
