Hi mate.

1) Try using something like Matt's Traceroute or HRPing for more accurate readings, these can both be found with a quick google.
2) Leicester is scheduled for a major upgrade in the near future which should improve your latency a little.

Ta.

I didn't start with ntl, the core network to your local router is fine, your problem is the local cable connection.

Code:

Some people say 28th July for Belfast, so presumably end of July/beginning of August

Re: [Merged] NTL Increasing BB Speeds Late Summer 2004

I just upgraded from 600kb to the 1Mb, I wanna know when NTL will be upgrading the 1Meg to 1.5Meg in the W2 area. Also the person on the other side of the phone said that the 1Meg was £34.99 a month I though it was £37.99 since that is what it says on the website.

Re: [Merged] NTL Increasing BB Speeds Late Summer 2004

Lots of lovely rumours. I'm sure our ntl contacts will let us know any firm dates (either officially or otherwise ) and we will then pass these on.

He is not talking about the speed upgrade here, but a network upgrade, a pretty big one.

Re: [Merged] NTL Increasing BB Speeds Late Summer 2004

Iâ₠¬ÃƒÆ’¢â€žÂ¢d take it as read the UK will be the same, great I think we have a Dateââ‚ ¬Ã‚¦Ã¢â ‚¬Â¦.

These companies like to do things as a whole. If the UK Date is any different Iâ₠¬ÃƒÆ’¢â€žÂ¢d be surprised.

Good a few more weeks and I have 300K

Wrong, If I remember correctly, isnt NTL ireland a seperate comapny from NTL UK now, and dont have the same management (Or customer relations staff obviously) and thus that date is all but irrelevent to US UK'ers, although, anyone at NTL UK saying "well we cant give you the date" should look there to see how its meant to be done, Played NTL Ireland
