Galway Hurdle hero Rebel Fitz has an excellent opportunity to add to his tally in the JP McManus Hurdle at Cork on Sunday.

The seven-year-old followed up victories at Tipperary and Clonmel with a narrow verdict at Galway, sparking scenes of wild celebration in the winner's enclosure. He is rated at least 10lb better than each of his five opponents this weekend.

Trainer Mick Winters said: "He's very fresh and well in himself at the moment, maybe a little bit too fresh if anything. He's done very well since Galway and looks a million dollars at the moment. The ground should be perfect for him on Sunday and we're looking forward to it."

Ollie Olga maintained her unbeaten record as she toppled hot favourite Sky Lantern in a thrilling Whiteley Clinic Prestige Stakes at Goodwood.

Sky Lantern was the 10-11 market leader to return to winning ways in this Group Three test, while Ollie Olga had struck at Newbury and Newmarket for Mick Channon and was a 5-1 shot taking a marked step up in class in the hands of Martin Harley.

Frankie Dettori rode his first winner of the Betfred Ebor as Willing Foe came out on top in a pulsating finish to Europe's most valuable handicap at York.

Having finished third on his seasonal reappearance at Ascot last month, the Godolphin runner was a 12-1 chance for this prestigious one-mile-six-furlong test and Dettori made sure his mount was never too far off the pace in mid-division.

He came to throw down his challenge in the home straight and though Irish raider Royal Diamond looked a serious threat as they flashed by the furlong marker, Willing Foe gave Dettori everything to pass the post a neck in front.

Times Up bounced back to form to land the Weatherbys Insurance Lonsdale Cup at York for veteran trainer John Dunlop in the hands of the in-form William Buick.

The Arundel handler has endured a largely disappointing season to date and Times Up was an 11-1 chance having failed to make a serious impact on his last three starts.

Hot favourite Saddler's Rock set a sedate gallop for much of the two-mile journey but was soon swallowed up in the straight, and though there were plenty in with a chance entering the closing stages it was Times Up who finished best of all to grab the Group Two prize by two and a quarter lengths.

Experience counted over youth in Goodwood's Betfair Celebration Mile as Premio Loco added the eighth Group race of his invaluable contribution to trainer Chris Wall and owner Bernard Westley.

Outranking each of his rivals by more than three years and soundly beaten on his two most recent starts, admittedly once by Frankel at Royal Ascot, the chestnut was disregarded in the betting at 20-1.

But that was not taking into account his tenacity, as after losing his lead to Thistle Bird and 7-4 favourite Aljamaaheer at the furlong marker, he was galvanised along the far rail by George Baker to cross the line a neck and a head in front of the other two.

Afsare could pave the way for three other Australian runners for Luca Cumani by running in the Sportingbet Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 27.

The long journey should pose no problems for the five-year-old, who had competed in Italy and Turkey before his outing in this month's Arlington Million, when he was an unfortunate and fast-finishing second to Iron Mike.

First Cornerstone (7-2) stepped up on his recent Listed victory at Tipperary as he landed the Curragh's Group Two Galileo EBF Futurity Stakes.

The race lost some sparkle when likely favourite Nevis was withdrawn earlier in the day, but Aidan O'Brien still had 7-4 joint-favourite Flying The Flag and Kingston Jamaica in the field. The latter set the pace, opening up a couple of lengths lead over Flying The Flag, with First Cornerstone settled in behind.

Bated Breath's quest to claim a first Group One success will move on to Haydock's Betfred Sprint Cup next month after his sixth-place finish in the Coolmore Nunthorpe last week.

Roger Charlton's sprinter was first home of those drawn high at York and his trainer believes the fact Spirit Quartz, who had been comprehensively beaten by Bated Breath on the two previous occasions they had met, finished in front of him proved he was on the wrong part of the track.

William Buick believes Nathaniel could at least give Frankel something to think about should the pair lock horns in the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot in October.

Frankel recorded his 13th victory from as many starts with a truly awesome display in last week's Juddmonte International at York.

While plans for the world's highest-rated racehorse remain up in the air, the Champion Stakes would seem his most likely next objective and that could see him clash with John Gosden's Nathaniel for the second time. The duo met on debut at Newmarket a couple of years ago, with Nathaniel getting within half a length of Sir Henry Cecil's colt.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained 11-year-old claimed the blue riband when beating Denman by seven lengths at Prestbury Park in 2010, a race in which Kauto Star fell. However, he has been off the track since being pulled up in last year's Gold Cup.

Leopardstown could be the next port of call for Snow Fairy following her triumphant return from injury at Deauville.

If conditions are suitable, the five-year-old mare is likely to go for the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes on September 8 in which she finished second to So You Think last season.

Ed Dunlop's charge showed she had made a full recovery from a leg problem sustained when winning the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup in Japan in November when landing the Prix Jean Romanet earlier this month.

Andre Fabre's top-class colt Meandre will skip a potential clash with Danedream in the Grosser Preis Von Baden in Germany this weekend.

Instead, the three-times Group One winner will be kept at home as the master trainer builds him up for another crack at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Fabre will stick to a tried and tested method by running Meandre in the Prix Foy at Longchamp on September 16, before another attempt on Europe's premier all-aged middle-distance showpiece.

Saint Baudolino will not be one of Andre Fabre's runners in this year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and will instead be trained for next year's Dubai World Cup.

The Godolphin-owned colt has never finished outside of the first three in seven starts to date and was only narrowly beaten by Aidan O'Brien's Imperial Monarch in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp, having also finished runner-up in the French Derby at Chantilly.
