Thankfully the media in Malta post very little about UK football.
Does that include those of us who've been out of the country for most of the last 2 weeks?

That's been the case for the last month. I'm sure Malta get English obsessed papers within that timescale.
But as Shadow says, technically if Andorra get a result against Russia...

I think more money would be made because of the traveling fans and TV viewers with England in it.

There might be more chance of Macedonia getting a result against Croatia to be honest...

If they do they're very few and far between - I've heard nothing about it, hence why I asked.

Saw this on the BBC site:
Quote:
"Let's face it, Russia deserve to qualify. Coached by a better tactician and motivator in Hiddink who always does a good job. They have great potential as a European force. England are becoming somewhat of a European farce under McClaren."
|
There might be more than a grain of sense in that.

And i wasn't wrong. Macedonia 2 - 0 Croatia.
If England win 2-0 on wednesday they will qualify top of the group. What a turn around from a couple of hours ago!
From the bbc live text - "Unbelievable. I bet Steve McClaren's won the blimmin lottery tonight as well"

Russia, Turkey & Georgia are also strictly in Asia, or mainly in Asia, but they're eligible as well...

Er, it's a bit obvious.
Cos if they played in their real area, against people like Syria, Saudi Arabia or Iran or, hell, Lebanon, where the Israelis recently murdered a thousand or so residents, there'd be, um, a slight security problem (imagine a thousand or so Iranians rocking up at Tel Aviv airport for the away game). You'd have to play their entire qualifying campaign somewhere else, basically.
Anyway, creating Middle East peace is, haha, a piece of cake compared with trying to salvage England's evening. I just want to see how badly they can cock it up from here.

Re: Football : Season 2007/2008
I really do have a morbid sense of curiosity - there have been too many disappointments with this shower, and when I heard that Lampard/Gerrard were in the middle with Carson at the back I expected the score to go up rather faster in the away team column, but not that fast!

Lampard - what a waste of space. Jessie. Dontchalovehim. Player of the season. Drop him now.

That Crouch is ruddy useless too.

Re: Football : Season 2007/2008
Hang on - as soon as I slagged off England's performance in the other thread, they started scoring - shall I do it a bit more?
