I love it , one of my favourites at the moment. Sky have announced they'll show all seasons which I'm happy about , wasn't it shown once on VM On Demand (seasons 1 and 2)

It may have been; I rarely check VM on demand. All 5 seasons are on US Netflix

I also thought it was a load of absolute rubbish can not see what all of the hype was about it was the most boring program I have ever tried to watch and I did give it a chance watching 2 episodes before finally deleting the series record.

Surely its better to have the current compromise channel.
Will the BBC also have to regionalise BBC2 HD as well?
|
The trouble is there are too many people who cant/wont deal with subtitles, regardless of how high the quality of programming is and I guess viewing figures are what counts when deciding what is shown in HD.
I guess you will be aware, but if you did not know The Killing has offically finished and (currently) there will no more made Lets hope we get more quality Scandinavian programs as a replacement

Sky Atlantic (and it programs) simply do not appeal to me. As always though, I hope we get it for those who do want it though.

"Launch a single version, with no variations in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, of BBC Two in HD in 2012 to replace the current BBC HD channel. Nations variations would continue in SD"

I think that renaming ITV1 back to ITV is a stupid idea too.

A lot of America regard it as "Terrorist TV", so, as a result, much of Al Jazeera English was censored.
I'm shortly going to contact a friend at Dish TV to let him know, in case he hasn't heard of this secretive and rushed change of ownership. They may want to disconnect them too (assuming that they actually carry Current TV).
|
My friend no longer works for DirecTV (sorry, I got the name wrong), so no longer has any direct influence there.
Shareholders, however, are calling for it to be taken off the platform by putting pressure on the directors.
There are reports on the Current TV facebook page that Al Jazeera celebrated 9/11 and have broadcast footage of American troops being beheaded and marines being burnt to death.
If this is true, I think that this channel should be proscribed in this country.
It is believed that the Saudi royal family paid for Al Jazeera to go onto satellite, freeview and the channels recent additions to the Virgin Media platform.
Ultimately, no doubt, paid for by us all from their excessive oil profits.
I have asked a contact if we could see Al Jazeera coming off VM shortly.
I was told that this was doubtful, as they have paid to be there, it has not changed ownership, so VM cannot use that as a get out clause with the carriage agreement and many customers were actually asking for this channel.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
And also we're not improving the situation if we allow prejudices based on the events of 11+ years ago to decide who we want our television provider to do business with. Al Jazeera has earnt much capital from the way it covered the Arab spring, and has openly courted the American government. Things change, people move on, situations improve. Most people who've actually watched the channel consider it a decent place to get news.

a) AJ is funded by Qatar, not Saudi
b) the rumours re beheadings are false - the Guardian had to apologise to AJ for printing those rumours

If you want a balance of news you NEED to at least look at AJ now and then , as you should look at Euronews & CNN . Relying on BBC is - what word can I use that wont offend - ideal

I for one find it very difficult to watch a subtitled film or program because I find that the text is at times not very legible or there is just to much and it has gone before I have read it all.
I therefore do not watch any subtitled programs.
