Sorry life is to short for all of that. Info on using ONE button* & reminders for me make for me V+ / Tivo - . Hopefully it will come.
*Are you saying there is such a thing now ? see a show if running or on later next week etc. just want info, seems to be a run around at the moment.

Exactly... if you're willing to spend some time getting used to the interface there's a lot more power to it. I think the reason people are so enamoured of their old V+ HD boxes is that they're simpler/slightly faster in operation and they're used to them (i.e. unwilling to adjust to the learning curve of a TiVo). I could be wrong but all the negative comments about them seem to suggest this.

That's what I mean in action... it's one extra button press, is life really too short for one extra button press? I admit the keymapping of the remote can be inconsistent across menus but it isn't that much harder to use in most cases. Sorry if that sounds harsh!

Any ideas if this will work with a Logitech Dinovo Bluetooth keyboard? I have a spare one that would be ideal to keep by my chair if it worked.

Re: 15.2 update
It was only within the last few weeks that the SA V+ 'info bug' got fixed after years of living with it so technically to view the info of a program there were 3 key presses needed, Info -> OK -> Info

* I was referring to the actors, you tube etc. Really do NOT care.
I want ease of use, I am not looking for anything else. When I watch any programme that is what I want to do. Not hop around the on screen menu. Sorry but thats the way it is.
By all means put bells & whistles on & good luck & have fun to those who want it, enjoy. Does that mean that a simple ( I admit this) way can not be included.
The two are not inclusive of each other

Home -> Help & Settings -> Parental Controls (enter PIN) -> Request a PIN to Watch Recordings -> Do not request a PIN
knew I had seen it on here, on a earlier post

So you bring the EPG up, move to programme you want info on and press info. Quick enough for me

USB yes, Bluetooth no. Anything that requires drivers probably won't work... it needs to be basic HID compliant I believe. Couldn't hurt to try though, right? I didn't expect my old but nice Logitech 350 PS/2 keyboard to work with a PS/2 -> USB converter but it did, so you never know.

I quite agree! That's why I'm disappointed VM are railroading their customers by discontinuing the V+ HD boxes. You have no choice but TiVo if you want a DVR, and as much as I like mine some people like yourself don't want to spend hours tinkering with it.
(I still say getting program info on TiVo is pretty easy though... press Enter to bring up mini EPG then press Info!)

Yeah, one of mine I think (I re-added the bold tags).

Re: 15.2 update
But you don't have to tinker to use it as a DVR, you pres record and it records you press info and it gives you info? People are complaining because they want it to be a V+, you don't but a iPhone and expect it to everything a Android phone can do, you don't buy a Ford and expect it to drive like a Mercedes.
I generally tend to find that after a few months of owning a product you forget what the one you used have could do and just enjoy the one you have. Even though the basic Tivo software is quite old it really has a lot of stuff in there and you have a choice of either just using the basics or tinkering with the more advance stuff.
Also I bet when the official Buddy app comes out and you can do all the other stuff from your phone/tablet a lot of this will be even easier.

An RF keyboard will work as they just show up as USB devices (as if there was a cable)

I thought he was talking about a USB dongle that has a Bluetooth receiver on the end. I don't have much experience with those things but I'd figure since there's a USB -> Bluetooth conversion going on the target device needs drivers for it. Could be wrong of course!

Re: 15.2 update
The fact remains that pressing "info" won't give information for a forthcoming programme if you have it set to record. Surely this can't be right and needs fixing.

I think it all depends how the two interact. RF kit e.g Logitech nano/unifiying receiver is usually pre-paired to the USB reciever so work straight away
Most Bluetooth devices need pairing within the OS so probably wouldn't work
Although apparently the US TiVo slide remote - which operates via Bluetooth - does work on the VM one. Probably because it's actually got built in support for it (or it's pre-paired)
