He said that it has been trialled with staff and is now currently trialling to certain VIP customers. He said that if and only if this is deemed successful then a further rollout will take place by area and that not everyone will be offered an install immediately. He said it will be rolled out by postcode areas. Got to say very impressed by quickness of response, but very dissapointed that it could be another 2, 3 or more months before it comes my way!

That's the first time rollout by postcode has been mentined (to my knowledge, anyway).
I think that's the most depressing update we've had.
How does that fit in with previously suggested times of new customers from April and current customers before then?

My email said:

We’ll be in touch around the end of March to let you know how you can get the TiVo service before it goes on general sale

So anyone who seems to think they'll get a phone call one second after midnight 28th Feb.....

Re: Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?
Not sure if we need another thread for this but I suggest we list the following to try and build up some sort of profile of who is getting contact or not.
Pre Register
VIP20 (Now VIP50 since Saturday)
No email/letter/call or anything not even that lucky number 001 thing.
NG13 area
Really cheesed off about the lucky number thing as my brother in law who is on M phone, M BB and I think XL tv actually told me he had 2 of those come to him when I saw him yesterday!
Wish I had known before the closing date though!

Re: Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?
But we know that this isn't the case. Which is why people are getting frustrated.
I'm sitting here waiting patiently. I want TiVO. I'm quite happy to pay £150 for it. Every time Sunday rolls around I juggle the V+ box so that the wife gets to see what she wants to. I'm very much looking forward to the fundamental improvements to the recording engine - that and the shinier UI (I had WMC for a year and V+ feels a bit stone age by comparison!). Everything else will be a bonus.

I've done some checking at work and can I just say that TiVo is NOT going to be rolled out by postcode.
I reckon where the misunderstanding has come from is likely that Virgin will probably use the pre-registrations to gauge in what areas there is the most interest in TiVo, to make sure that any stock is allocated to where people have already said they want it (which makes sense to me). So there may be some differences in how many TiVo boxes get sent to each region, this will not be at the expense of the ability for existing customers to order it across the whole country.

I have spoken to the person in the CEO office who made this statement and have had it clarified.
What he was trying to say is that due to different levels of interest in various areas those with large numbers would take longer and so it could be that one area is complete whilst another is still arranging installs.
All areas will start at the same time, just some will take a lot longer.

Re: Who's still waiting for a phone call for tivo?
I am in Nottingham and waiting myself, registered on the first day and entered the online draw. Just having to be patient, however I believe from another post that there should be a Tivo on demo in the Nottingham VM store so must pay it a visit!
