Really, why?

This question is coming from someone who has a 40Gb classic and finds the UI an pain in the proverbial as with 9000 songs, 2400 artists, 750 albums it can get tough to find things. The 1Gb on my phone is perfectly adequate for commuting as is the 1Gb (or is that 512) on my shuffle.

8Gb will give you enough music for 2000 tracks? At 4 minutes each that is 133 hours or 5+ days continuous listening, enough for all but the round the world trip, and even then you could probably make do.

I remember the days when you went out with a walkman and maybe another tape, two C90s, a whole 180 mins of music. Woah.

I have a 30gb Ipod photo that is full to the brim with my own music.
I can easily navigate round as i organise everything via playlists as Album Name - Album Title.

Ideally i would like the extra space to use a higher bit rate and put on the rest of my stuff.

16GB is nowhere near enough.

I suspect TBR, like myself, likes to have access to as much of his music collection as possible, and at reasonable quality.

I realise I am never likely to listen to all the songs on my ipod, but I like being able to pick and choose from all of my music.

I had the same attitude, hence buying the 40Gb 3G iPod back at Christmas 2005, I guess my attitude has changed. Perhaps the touch interface would make searching better.
