I don't know if anybody has seen the jimmycorkhill blog (Dean Sullivan from brookside) Open letter to Joey barton.
I won't post a link here as it contains very strong language, but I guess you'll find it somehow.

I agree he was a good player and I think has alot of experience behind him which will help the England squad.

On another note I am soo glad McLeish has gone for good and now we can concerate on getting a good manager and rebuilding the squad and become the best Midlands team again.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
well done to City overall they were the better side.
I know this is something we have profited from in the past but did anyone watch the City game and were there really 5 mins of extra time ? We got 3 against Sunderland and I didn't even think there was 3 mins there either.
Not sure why the FA \ UEFA \ FIFA feel the need to drag the game out by a few more minutes all the time

Re: Football Season 2011/12
there's never any consistency in it, it's as if now they have board they feel they have to use it all the time.
There were 4 substitutions in the second half at 30 seconds each that is 2 minutes time they should add on. There was one goal during normal time and according to the rules they have to add on one minute so we are already up to 3 minutes and it took about 2 mins and maybe longer to send Barton off. That means the ref is saying if there were no subs and no sending off etc the game would have ended at 90 mins We all know we still would see the standard 3 mins they always put up.
A lot of the time when goals are scored during injury time they don't add on the extra one minute that is in the rules although this time I think they did.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Firstly they are Laws not rules
Secondly, there is no mention of how much time is required to be added on for subs.
Thirdly, Law 7 does not specifically say time should be added for goals.
Quote:
Allowance for time lost
Allowance is made in either period for all time lost through:
• substitutions
• assessment of injury to players
• removal of injured players from the fi eld of play for treatment
• wasting time
• any other cause
The allowance for time lost is at the discretion of the referee.
