This is normally stuff like router software upgrades - I doubt it is the speed changes. (but you can always hope  )

the maintenance has happened, still 1mbit.
don't know what they did but it caused my ip address to be changed.

Thats because leic wasnt involved in the main upgrade yesterday , my mate from northants tested his download and got 150k/s earliar, but isnt online atm so cant ask him to do a proper test

I *think* it was a dhcp server upgrade, which would explain the IP change. I know it's hot today, but the calendar is scarcely late summer, so don't get your hopes up just yet.

Its only a config file update 3 months (including time already waiting) is an aweful long time to achieve such a simple change.

Wrong.
British Summer Time has nothing to do with Summer.
Spring is March 21st to June 20th. Summer begins on June 21st.
