Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Yay! LCR3 is now in Andover
First Impressions: - Like the colour scheme
- Speed seems reasonable
- Being able to use the guide and change the channel in the mini-tv is excellent.
- The kids like the cuckoo clock reminder noise
- Don't like the fact that the default is for on-demand to not require a pin number. Will have to lock this to make sure that my technologically savvy 7 year old doesn't start ordering films
- Really miss the page up/down and jump to first channel on the mini-guide
Dunno if this was just our box or if it is a "feature" but the box locked up completely when we were in favourites at channel 0 and pressed page up a couple of times. We were on a radio station at the time. It kept playing the station, but refused all further commands from the remote and the animated station name froze. The only recourse was to turn the box off and on again.
Apart from that, it definately seems to be worth the wait. Just got to wait for the red button to be woken up from its slumbers now

the last ones to go are...
Andover (started today)
Warwick (started today)

This isn't due to the download, and shouldn't prevent the download either. So long as you can get TV pictures, you'll get the download.
But ring ntl to get the problem fixed anyway.

Yup, they have, although I'm not sure of the exact date it started (off hand), so it may well be ongoing.

Nottingham has started, but not necessarily for all STB types yet. Try rebooting your STB to see if that forces it to do the download.

Re: [Merged] CR3-Feedback & Questions in Here Please.
Kirklees is next week, starting on the 27th May. That is the final date. Everyone should be in one of the areas now announced.
Basingstoke comes under Guildford. Nottingham is now released to all STB types.
Cheers

We got the upgrade here in Nottingham a week or two ago - I wondered what on earth was happening as the box took ages to boot up.
Then, the following week, ntl sent us the leaflet telling us about the upgrade.
Maybe next time they might get it the right way round.
We've noticed it's very slow. I just hope it does get better when they drop the old version. Or maybe they're hoping it will take so long to roll out that we'll have forgotten how fast the old one was by the time they finish.

I'm in Farnborough/North Camp wsing a 4010N STB and never got the download automatically. Turned the box off at the wall for 30 seconds and the download started when I powered it back up.
