Yes Rooney has been our best player so far but you've seen what happens when he's out of the team for any length of time.
So while Mata isn't the key signing Moyes needs, he IS a good signing and will benefit the team.

I never said he wasn't a good player. I just questioned whether the purchase was a planned one. Perhaps a opportunistic purchase might be closer to the truth.

You can have a panic buy of a good player - although not in the same 'league' as it were, Fellaini is a good player.
I think the purchase was planned - United tried to get him during the summer. Perhaps they were waiting for assurances from Rooney before making the move.

A panic buy that springs to mind has to be the Andy Carroll one by Liverpool and Mata has been trailed by several big clubs for the last 6 months so l would not regard it as a panic buy but a opportunity that opened itself up quickly.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
I don't see what's hard to understand about Mata going now and not last summer. Since then he's not played as much as he wanted to, he asked to leave, and that's it basically. The same with De Bruyne, Essien and Bertrand on loan to Villa. I would have loved them all to stay and fight for their places, but as I've said before, if they want out let them go. No point keeping an unhappy player, no matter who he is. Being a World Cup year plays a part in their decision as well, but I don't believe there's a club manager anywhere that would pick someone just so they can make a countries squad.

I still think United is his dream job and he still holds hope he will get it one day.

I wouldn't call it his dream job but I reckon he hopes to be the manager at some point.

Personally l think MU supporters are clutching at straws if they think Mourinho will go to MU now as they had their chance to get him but alas they listened to too many of the wrong people around the club and have missed the boat.

I would be surprised if he ever goes to Man Utd, and only speculation that he would have taken it if offered.

That is how a draw should be, I hate manipulated draws. if i had my way, teams from same league could be drawn earlier in the champions league. I prefer luck of the draw.
