You need to ring customer services and get it added, it's not automatically available on the line

So which areas have 1571 as part of the line rental and which do not? I bet it isn't in my areas, Leeds!

As for free elsewhere, both BT and Telewest offer a free 1571 service and have done for some time.

Leeds isn't the area that I cover, but I'm 99% certain that it is available there, as the voicemail system in use is identical to the London one.
