People in other countries don't **** and moan as soon as they can't get full speeds. They are also more accepting of traffic shaping, etc.

HA! I have someone on MSN from sweden and if he doesnt get full speed on any site he complains to his ISP (and weirdly they care). Mind he does download about 50GB/day on average.

I couldnt care about not getting 10Mbps all the time, as long as I got it some of the time. 75GB/month is nothing for some people. If NTL offer such high speeds, they should offer a high cap as well. Thats my only argument and complaint.

Because suprisiing as this concept may be to you, most people don't actually try and download the internet each month - they just like what they do to be nice and fast.

Might i ask if you are so into other country's level of service you go move there. This is the UK not sweden, gemany, holland,or any other country. It is of no relevance at all what other countries have. What is of relevance is what we have in THIS COUNTRY. Now if your present level of service is not good enough for you SERVER then might i suggest you find a provider that will give you the level of service you want. I for one are sick and tired of you complaining that the level of service you have as a residential user is not good enough for your what i can only see as a Business server as you openly state that there are graphic files on it for other people. Now i for one if i do work for some one else will change for it or are you a charity or something.

Just had to get that off my chest. I will now sit back and wait for all the red reps BRING THEM ON see if i care

Um... Am I complaining about the service? Or moaning about my server? Im simply saying that 10Mbps with a cap seems stupid.

If other countries can do it, why cant we? Im not moaning, simply stating facts.

I dont know what is wrong with you but you certainly have a bad attitude.

EDIT: Oh and yes I do charge for it but its not enough to be able to upgrade my connection.

So you openly admit to running a Business server on a Residential service glad i am not on the same cab as you then.

Especially when you have this amount of data.

I have about 2GB of main website data and over 70gb of other files that need to be on the server too. As you can imagine it would take a hell of a long time to send over FTP.

Now i for one would not like to be on the same cab as you if your users are partaking of your 70 gig of data.

Broadband also originally cost £40+ a month for 512k, which idiot thought of the idea of dropping the prices?

Your friend downloading 50GB/day, I doubt his ISP are really that bothered, if they are they are a tad insane. Which is it? Telia, Bostream, BBB? There's not that much that can or will saturate a 24Mbit ADSL2+ line to be honest. If he's complaining whenever he doesn't get his full 10 / 24 / 100Mbit and isn't involved with his ISP in some other way than just a customer I'm surprised they havent throttled him intentionally to get him to leave.

Mmm 10 DVDs a day, I'm sure I could use those, honest guv I could. Only 20 hours a day to watch, easy. Downloading just for the sake of downloading sucks I could do 90GB/day but wtf is the point

Have I ever said this? I only store the files on the server, I dont run it as a business. So I have 70gb of data? Infact I have more on the server but that doesnt mean I transfer 70gb of data all at once does it?

Do yourself a favour, sit quietly until you know what your talking about.
